this book is about making things look and feel like hypnosis, even if they "truly" aren't...

very good book in my experience...

but only if you are able to act like and "be" a hypnotist or someone who can suggest things to people and make them work...

it's not a book on hypnosis as such...

are you sure about that dude...?
its written in its review..

No wonder this book was being called a "classic work on hypnosis for performers!" only months after it was released.

this is the whole review..

Read this today, put people into trances in your performances tomorrow

Kenton's new "Ultimately Under" does for hypnosis what Completely Cold has done for telephone psychics.

Literally overnight you will get spectators to close their eyes, levitate their arm, see imaginary balloons and all manner of things - without stooges, hypnosis, or tons of practice.

Spectator's hands get stuck to a table, they cannot move from a spot on the floor, their fingers seem glued together and more.

No memorizing special hypnotic scripts or fancy words.

No funny props required, though you may want to use your cell phone or make up a thing or two.

Most of the effects can be performed up close, in a living room or on stage.

Unlike what all the others teach you, Kenton tips how mentalists and magicians can use trance work TODAY without worry or failure.

Forget being taught how to be a clinical therapist or hypnotist when all you really want to do is apparently put people under INSTANTLY while doing your usual effects.

You learn how to do all of this and more right away in this amazing book. This work is for MAGICIANS AND MENTALISTS BY a renown MAGICIAN and MENTALIST. You don't need to be an expert in hypnosis when all you really want to do is show how you put people into a trance instantly.

No dangerous methods, no difficult work.

Read it today, perform trance effects with ease and complete confidence tomorrow!

No worries, and no fear required.

No wonder this book was being called a "classic work on hypnosis for performers!" only months after it was released.

Get this classic now and see for yourself.

Thanks anyway

Kenton's done a lot of work on producing apparent trance states for the amusement and wonderment of spectators. I haven't seen this book yet, but it's probably similar to effects he discusses in Kentonism and Twists and Trances.

Typical "Kentonism" pseudo-trance effects from these two books are:
Making someone name a shape, colour, etc. that you suggest subliminally
Suggesting to people what drinks, sweets, etc. taste like
Suggesting that a person can't cut a piece of paper
Making people behave in certain ways that you suggest/predict
Making someone change a lifelong belief
(These are the apparent effects, not what is actually done!)

Kenton clearly knows a lot about hypnosis, but he doesn't recommend it for entertainment purposes and doesn't write about it.

Anything by Kenton is worth the money! If you're interested in trance effects, I'd suggest starting with Kentonism (where he introduces his techniques) and Twists and Trances (an extension of these, informally called "Kentonism 2"). Ultimately Under is probably his idea of "Kentonism 3", so you might as well get them in order.

Took me a while to figure out what "sth" meant...

Anyway, the "ppl" are saying the same thing as the book's review - you just need to learn how to read a review like that, to wit:

Literally overnight you will get spectators to close their eyes, levitate their arm, see imaginary balloons and all manner of things - without stooges, hypnosis, or tons of practice.

Go back, re-read the whole thing and I believe that you'll find that what the "ppl" are saying is very much what the review is saying. Failing that, drop them a letter and ask that it is translated into text speak, then maybe you'll understand it.

Mike.

Regretfully, I would have to fully agree.

Out of print, "collectible" and only available secondhand and overpriced. I see Richard Bandler has a new book for laymen on the way, though.

Do you want a book on stage hypnosis, hypnotherapy or just trance induction?
