What's your ideal car?

Postby Replicant » Jun 21st, '08, 16:58

Let's see it then!

Mine's the Aston Martin DBS. Predictable choice, perhaps, but I don't care; it's the sexiest car in the world and I'm in love...

Very closely followed by a Porsche 911 GT2...

Going on practicality, I'm very fond of the BMW X5 (it was my wedding car!)...

I'd go for the Bentley Continental GT for the extra space that it gives over the DB9/S but I do think that the Aston looks slightly better.

Tell you what - I'd have both

I think Bentleys are horrible cars. Ugly, brick-like, square and boring.

To be honest, my ideal car is probably a 2-wheeler, but if it's a car it'd probably be a Lotus Exige. I don't have much time for pompous luxury (or even comfort  ), I want FUN! I want to put my foot down and be way over there - now. Because they're so light a Lotus will outstrip almost any other production sports car out there despite being 1/3rd of the engine size. You just have to avoid crashing...

Also, I'll still by allowed to drive mine in a few years because the Tri-Fuel version keeps the tree huggers happy

Quite a lot of production cards beat it in the Top Gear test track.

I once had a ride in Foo Foo Lamar's buff yellow Bentley once, you know...

If that doesn't make Innuendo Bingo, nothing will...

In "the day" I was a major fan of small built Sports Cars like the MG Midget, Porsche 911 and even owned an Austin Healey and Austin Martin at one point (along with lots of VW Beetles for some reason).

If I were to luck into the opportunity to get the "dream machine" for today, it would have to be a Hybrid if not full Hydrogen Cell and it would have to be a modified van capable of handling my other set of wheels as well as my cooling and possible sleeping needs (it would be used as a mobile office of sorts and actual road work)... of course, it would have to include a driver in that I'm no longer allowed to do such silly things. :?

I think I would have to go for The Performance motorhome. Complete with sports car. Top Gear style.

I'm a dull fellow, probably an Audi A4 or summat. Mind you the K reg model of the Rover 216 SLi is pretty damn flash, leccy windows, central locking, rear washer/wiper the lot.
