Hello.

My name is Jonathan (Jon if you wish) and I'm...

A magician.

Wow, it's nice to get that off my chest.

I saw this on another thread in this section:

seige wrote:4: Magic is more about personality, charisma and performance than it is about sleights, moves and manouvers

Which means I'm done for.

More seriously, I've dabbled (or maybe flirted) with magic off and on for what I reckon must be at least 25 years. I don't even recall my first magic set (but I still have some items from it).

I've only relatively recently started being serious (well, semi-serious) about it and now avoid buying flashy bits of mauve or lime green plastic.

I mainly do mentalism and not-too-tricky card work. I like finding out about all sorts of effects, though.

My user-name stems from the fact that I have lots of interests, so don't really devote as much time to each of them as I'd like. :)

Hi Jon and welcome! Most of us are part timers of one sort or another so it's great to welome another member! (I have to agree about the mauve and lime green plastic - those colours look so much better in Lycra )

Hi Jon

Bit worried about the mauve & lime green, especially after Mandrake mentioning Lycra...!

Welcome to the nuthouse... don't worry so much about the personality, charisma and performance - we've all forsaken that in favour of Aardvarks, Lemons and Nigella Lawson (all will become clear as you trawl these tomes!)

And don't worry about being a 'jack of all trades'... as long as you make sure you keep us up-to-date with your fascination for card dabbling!

See you around!

Hello and welcome :) Nice to see you here.

As you must have already noticed, I'm the only sane one here, the rest of them are all on day release but are highly skilled in the art of magic.
We all look forward to your posts around the board :)

Thanks for the welcomes.

I actually signed up ages ago, made about one post, then stopped coming here. The new board really is rather nice and I think I'll be here a fair amount from now on!

Just keep in mind Nigella in mauve and lime green Lycra. It does nothing for magic but makes me feel sooooo very good. (OK, I'm off to the darkened room with the nice soft walls - again)

So how did you get on with NFW in the end?!
(Mandrake has a long memory and can also check out the older threads!)

...seige joins Mandrake in his darkened room - to have a long thing about Nigella and her technicolour lycra collection... of course, the two magish are at opposite ends of the room, which should be noted now before any innuendos along the lines of 'is that an aardvark in your pocket, or are...'

bab is indeed the only sane one here. He hung up his straightjacket long ago... but gets it out once in a while for some Houdini-esque routines...

...well, I was offered the starring role over Sid James in

Carry On Typing (badly)

..quite worrying - it's funny how sometimes you type what you're thinking, rather than what you're Kylie's bottom...
