Do any of you know where some one would be able to get hold of fake 100$, or if you are even allowed to buy such things?

Have you tried Tony Engs old place? I don't know the new name of it. You may try Gizmo's in Metrotown in Burnaby they sell magic and novelties. I'm assuming the place still exists. I know you can get Canadian Mismade bills, and you can get the 1 Million dollar bill, (of course they don't really exist) but I'm unsure if you can get a fake 100.00 bill that may be on the illegal side.

fake 100.00 bill that may be on the illegal side

I don't see why it would be. They're not made of cloth paper and usually fake money will have something saying "this is not legal tender" etc. If you want It passable as real money either get real $100's or begin the sweet business of counterfeit production

I don't think using fake money is illegal, unless it looks a lot like real money and you try to pass it off as real money. I have some fake 1 dollar bills, they're printed on plastic, are a lot lighter in colour and have magic requisit written on them. So if you make it obvious that it ain't real money you should be fine.

I just want the 100$ bill to look close enough so if i just put it on the table people just assume its real. But upon any sort of close examination its obvious that its fake.

When you say Tony Engs old place you mean the trick shop in Vic?

Thanks for all your views

never seen fake money like that.
closest i have ever seen is the kind used from flash paper, but that won't look too good.

Only thought, even though illegal. photocopy the bill.

I'd try scanning one into your computer and printing it out on fairly thick grade paper. You could use photoshop or something to write "Fake" on it somewhere and then kind of cut it out and crumple it slightly.

It might look real at a glance and it might look terrible, but there's only one way to find out ;)

Yup, the place in Victoria. And just be aware if you try scanning the bill it is against the law in Canada, does not matter if you print FAKE across it or not. Obviously chances of getting caught is slim almost not worth being worried about, but experience has taught me that you never know who is watching.

You are pretty safe in assuming that if you put the bill on the counter and it can fool somebody into believing the bill is real it is prosicutable. You can make a bill that is of a different size, does not have the face or bird or whatever on it. (I forget what is on the $100.00) and does not have the words "Canadian Currency" (or whatever is on there. I don't have a Canadian bill on me to look) In other words all the really distinguishable marks must be removed/replaced and you are fine.

There was a case a little while back of a street artist who would paint a picture of a bill on a piece of paper. He would only paint one side of the paper and he would put his own signature on it. It was pretty cool. Unfortunatly the gov't didn't think it was a good idea. I don't believe he got into any real trouble. He did go to court and was made to 'cease and dissist' or it would go further.

The use of fake bills is not illegal.

Like many other things, the INTENT is the key; if you INTEND to pass it off as real money, you are breaking the law. If you don't, you aren't.

just scan it and print it out like I mentioned before.

You said you are not going to do anything with the bill and ways, just place it down on the table and pretend it theirs, or something like that.

If thats all your doing, and not try to spend it or anything else, then why does it matter. just do it.
they wont track you down or something. no one will know.

We are all right, and we are all wrong.

And I agree, nobody is really going to care. But again you never know who your spectators are. If you are really concern follow the guide lines listed at the following link.

Thanks for that Bmat.

No one shall be convicted of the above offence if the likeness of the Canadian bank note is... ....only one-sided.

Hmm. So that's why they do it.
