Hello all,

Not new to the forum. I've been an avid reader of this website for quite sometime and been studying magic for nearly 2 years. My main area of interest is that of mentalism...and already i hear a lot of the older members echoing the phrase 'Another Derren Brown wannabe'.

This, fortunately, is not the case. Even though i am young, i consider myself a skilled hobbyist and just about ready to delve into the realm of performing to the public.

I base my routines on psychological presentations and do genuinely use some psychological methods. I do take great satisfaction in finding new and exciting methods and as i progress i am findng that the old methods tend to be the best, so as you can tell I'm not one for new high powered gizmos that can tell you what your Nans eating for breakfast 2 miles away.

So, nice to meet you all, be nice and don't bite! Because i bite back 8)

As we said elsewhere recently, we treat others as they treat us and, despite rumours to the contrary, we don't assume all new arrivals are Brown or Blaine wannabes - whilst the originals exist, anything else will be a pale imitation. From your post it's clear you know who you are, what you're doing and are preparing to take your skills to the public. Sounds good to me - welcome to TM!
