Muscle reading

I'm not asking for an explanation or exposure, but is there any form of muscle reading that doesn't involve feeling somones pulse?

I'm guessing you never bought or read actual material on the subject...?

Buy a basic book on it. Allen Tipton wrote a great post on different sources to learn from.

And I'll second that it has NOTHING to do with the spec's pulse.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

fact or fiction

Postby magicmindben » Jul 16th, '08, 20:34

This was on wikipedia, (i don't go their for magic, only for magic history) and this is what i found which confused me.
"Supposedly, by coming into physical contact with the subject, a mentalist can gain a better link with the person's mind, usually by allowing him to read more subtle reactions in the subject's motor functions, such as muscle control and heart rate."
Is this just the patter they used? I don't wanty to sound stupid, i was going to buy a book, just wanted to know what it was about. I'm not using wikipedia for my magic. So would this just be what a agician would say. I must sound so ridiculous. I'm not really new to magic or mentalism at all. I feel quite knowledgable on most of it. I'm just completely new to muscle reading. that's all. I will get a book soon.

There is an element of truth to this in that some Muscle Workers do use the Pulse for certain bits of "testing" but it is not the primary element involved when it comes to actually doing it.

You can learn the basic mechanics of MR in under a half-hour's time but at the same time, it requires a life-time of genuine study and practice to "perfect". Get the Banachek DVD and book on Psychophysiological Mind Reading and you'll have a foundation that goes a great deal further than most of we old timers ever dreampt possible.

They've basically told you the truth but I'll repeat what I say in the above and in the other thread we have going on this topic presently... get the Banachek material!
