I'm just curious so let's begin....

If you were crashed on a desert island and you could only bring one "Magical" thing back to civilization with you what would it be? Whatever you pick, this would be the only thing you could ever buy or learn again. Also it would be the only magic thing you owned anymore.

I'll start this off, I would bring 13 steps just because if this were the only thing I'd have a large arsenal of mentalism with just that one book.

I think if I were stuck on a desert island I'd deffinately want something extremely hallucinogenic or I'd be bored stiff.

Deck of cards - but really just to play poker (assuming I'm not ALONE on the island).

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but you said "bring back to civilization."

So, I say coconuts, almonds and a stick.

That would be cups and balls (the stick is the wand). Then, I could do the regular cups and balls or a two cup or a one cup version. Further, I could play the shell game with them to make a couple bucks on the side, upon getting back to civilization.

And, I could also pretend that I was riding a horse anytime that I pleased (a la Monty Python).

I two was wondering about this. Is there a magic shop on the island or a place where I could purchase a deck of cards? I'm thinking I would have to bring back the 'Sands of Time"

I guess this sounded better in my head. Everything always does So let me clarify:

Your stranded on a desert island, before came there your house/apartment/shack burnt to the ground destroying all your magic. Now your stranded on this island and there is a magic shop. The owner a kindly man says that he'll give you any "one" item that you want. What would it be?


You have to suspend reality for a moment, don't let the questions "Who would I perform for" or "What if I'm rescued and could just go to another magic shop and purchase more stuff also."

Well in answer to question No. 1: You crash landed a 747 so there are at least thirty other people on this island.

In answer to question No. 2: You live in a post apocalyptic world for magic. If you were ever rescued the only shops left would be...Ellusionist.

So what would it be? Mine would be 13 steps still.

On a serious note I'd probably get a nice crisp deck of cards.
Plenty of fire power that lasts hours and hours at a time.

Tarbell course in magic. I'd get the entire set and I know that is more then one item but they magic dealers love this type of sale. As I'm buying all of them I'd probably even get a deal. No way Mr. Magic dealer would turn down the sale.

Why would I choose this because it is all in there in one way or another.

All 5 volumes of Card College (and a few decks of cards thrown in)

I wouldn't need a magic shop. I'd do palm readings (perhaps with a few aura readings thrown in for good measure) and be crowned king of the island (which hopefully is populated exclusively by females).
