Greetings fellow conjurers

As this is the third forum I have joined, I have cut and paste my intro from another:

After watching from the sidelines, I caught the magic bug and over the last 9 months it has spread to the point of obsession. Similarly, I've found magic forums such as MB to be more addictive than Ebay and Facebook, and after poring over the content in no apparent order other than an ad hoc clicking style much in the same vein as someone beginning to develop symptoms of magic Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I thought I'd give a laconic introduction.

Whilst my interest in magic was previously casual (growing up watching bits of street magic on TV), it was only really when I saw 2 of my mates perform sleight of hand that I stood up and took notice. From the perspective of a layman, I was fascinated and truly amzed at the effects I saw. Further, being a guitarist of 12 years (I should clarify that I've been playing for 12 years, and am not in fact a 12 year old, but rather 24) and a (bedroom, with the occasional stint in public) DJ for 4, I see magic as another outlet for my fingers and disposition towards exhibitionism.

Technically I consider myself fairly fluent when I'm practising at home in front of the TV on the sofa, but I physically shake when performing for friends (although I view myself as being a relatively confident persona), although I am told that this will resolve after experience.

So, just thought I'd say hi as I make the journey on the royal road to card magic.

Magic Bunny, Talk Magic and The Magic Cafe are equally ace. Have been anonymously and silently checking out Talk Magic for longer tho. It's high time to break the silence! And cheers for the welcomes!

Again thanks for the welcomes. I'd just like to say that I learnt the hard way today that if you want to shape a TT to better suit your thumb so that it is snug before the knuckle, the best approach is NOT to place it in boiling water. I did it today after my TT arriving in the post today. I literally played around with it for an hour, realised I had some hot water left over after some sweet and sour Pot Noodles, and saw it disintegrate before my very eyes.

Incidentally, I got the soft Vernet TT. I like the look of it, but it's jsut a bit too loose. Any other TT that should do the trick? It just needs to be a bit smaller in diameter. Would u advise buying the same one agin and maybe just using hot as opposed to boiling water? Or would the classic Vernet TT be about right?

Foolish. Foolish.

Yes, you'd be right, it IS a DJ Shadow reference: well done! Had a nice ring to an intro post i thought.
