Naturally it depends on what kind of TV you bought, LCD TV's are excellent, L"S"D TV's are a little... maybe it's you Paul.

One problem with LCD TV's, is their better "potential" performance (more pixels) has a down side. It highlights imperfect picture signals even more. So you may need an adjustment (or worse) an upgrade of your antenna.

Before you spend any money upgrading the antenna, keep in mind, if you are watching a standard definition signal on a High Def or FULL HD TV, there are some shows that will look like c*** (not the best) no matter what you do.

Ah yes, LCD. Not LSD. No wonder the picture looked rubbish.

I'm in the states so the techno garbage is a little different. But if you have a brand new spanking tv do you have it hooked up with brand new cables? Technology has changed so fast it is hard to keep up. You may need component cables rather then the standard cables. Are you hooked up to a digital box or is it just the cable coming in from the wall directly connected to the back of the tv?

If directly connected to the tv rather then something in between then you just have to make sure that connection is really tight. If you are running your computer off the cable or another tv then you have a splitter somewhere on the line. Now you may have to get a better splitter, that doesn't mean more expensive, it just means it is capable of handling the type of signal you need. Don't go getting cables or splitter with fancy dancy gold ends. they are not very helpful unless you live next to the ocean and the salt water does a lot of damage. Not sure if you guys have HDMI if so it is nice as it turns 3 cables into 1 and the sales people will insist it is better. It is not really better at this point just easier and the longer the cable the worse it gets.

All the above may be useless if the way cable is provided in the UK is much different then here in N. America.

It also depend's what your watching it through if you got a normal sky box for instance they only send out standard definition picture's i.e the same as your old telly but if you have sky HD they send out high definition signals which would make your picture ten times better. All the time you have a normal dvd, sky player your picture isnt going to be alot better than your old tv but if you upgrade to a HD DVD and HD sky player that's when you get so called crystal clear picture but a sky box and HD dvd player will set you back a good £600, just do what I'm doing sit ting and waiting until it becomes the norm and hope the prices go down a little
