Buy a gerbil press?

put it in the pan and cut off the bits that don't fit? (bonsai Gerbil!!!)

Or, less interestingly, get a mouse?

Don't let door hit you on the backside on the way out!

How about mice as an alternative? Unless you want to go for something bizarre like flies, or maggots, I can't see that there's much you could produce from a pan that small.

EDIT: Blimey, Nickj was fast there!

I'm not sure, but you might be able to buy flies from a pet shop (for feeding to other animals).

The flies thing could work, but it would be kind of unpleasant having them buzzing around, wouldn't it? It might be OK if you did some "bizarre magic".

Do you absolutely want to produce a living creature, because with your various limitations (which are understandable), there really isn't much scope.

Locusts? you can get them at pet shops and I think you can freeze them then revive them for each show!

!
lol
Well seing as we are talking about freezing animals.....
I really don't like the use of animals for entertainment, they look much more attractive in the wild than in a cage/pocket/pan.
Can you you imagine if a big giant picked you up and put you in a pan or the freezer then popped the lid in front of an audience, I for one would need a nappy.
Think of the poor animals :(
If you are relying on the cuteness/surprise of an animal denied it's freedom to wow your audience I would suggest you should practice more in other areas, sorry but it is how I feel.

Real life totaly straight BaB done.

How about getting some kind of small toy animal (I think the likes of Rocky the racoon will be to big) - you can animate it yourself (assuming it's for a kid's show)

I tend to agree that using animals isn't really acceptable to everyone these days and you might get some very adverse comments which will spoil the whole routine and show.

I think you have to go down the (probably boring) route of using those springy/feather flowers, sponge items and other things which look big but are really very small. (My paypacket would do nicely in many respects). After that it's those things which compress into a tin and jump out when you open the lid. Baked Beans or something like that. Or confetti. The cleaners will just love you if you use confetti.

I have a routine where I produce a hamburger (well a couple of them from my dove pan - but one will do in the chick pan). Combined with something like healed and sealed you could have a whole meal :D
