I think you are all missing my point. Sleight of hand is of course essential and in most situations a brilliant way of doing card to pocket. I use this myself all the time. But for completeness in answering the original post, the extractor is the best and cleanest version out there. To be used where possible. The rest of the time use sleights. I can go straight into other card routines from the extractor, so that isn't an issue. If you look you will see i give reference to material for both ways.
