Self Writing Blackboards

Postby Chris » Aug 20th, '08, 12:06

Hello folks Im currently pondering buying a Self Writing Blackboard...as I have a nice little idea for an effect with it...

However there very little in the way of reviews that I can find, so I was hoping although people may not own it, they may be aware of these items and their downsides etc?

Cheers

this is as old as the hills. older in fact.

Its a slate.

pure and simple.
In fact have a pair of these at home in my collection. each slate i have, is self contained, ( no loose flaps) and writing can appear, or change on both sides.

well which type of slate are you talking about? there's one with two little chalkboards you rub together and then when you spread them apart theres writting on it.

There's also another more expensive one where it visibly writes itself.

either one, there both pretty good, but there not all that much magic they help a mental trick out.

Im talking about the chu magic slate that was put out in the 80's, and sold by Hamleys back in the good old days, when they had a propper magic department.( in fact, i got these in the closing down sale believe it or not)

Ive only ever seen 2 of them.... and they are both in my lounge as i type.
I can see that at some time, ill have to take a photo. :)

OOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh nice very nice ...didnt think of that (okay i did) but stilll...........Its not wot anyone was thinking it wud be....no "flaps" etc.......rather new technique I think...very nice....I think ur paying here for the authenticty of the board rather than a clever gimmiced board...overall 7/10 for idea...but if delivered well this thing will blow em away...all u mentalist folk, get on it..

This is starting to sound like a text version of those Ellusionist-package-opening videos.
