Just off the top of my head here, but what about using a couple of forcing dice to generate the number?
I think i saw somethingon magicweek this week, that said cards for magicians now stock a range of them.

The new dice on that page are the 'other' sort of forcing dice, I think. However, a few weeks back, they added some loaded dice, which should work, but even then you are not guaranteed a 'good' roll. However, they seem to be out of stock at the moment (which is why they aren't showing up on the 'New In' page).

EDIT: Oddly enough, they do appear on the 'Dice and Dice Cups' page. Go there and click on 'Magician's Dice - 16mm'.

Get the spec to cut the deck. Then use your remote control to switch off the lights. Then in the ensuing darkness and confusion place the force card on top of the deck. Then switch the lights back on and say, "Weird huh? Anyway back to the experiment."

 :D

Mindblasters, available from Peter Duffie's site, has a nice technique for forcing large numbers (3/4+ digits). It's not ideal as it involves picking numbers from separate selections of other numbers, but I'm sure it could be improved on with a threeway changebag.

then the only thing left is the method.

not a great one in my mind, because you introduce a prop,( the hank) for no reason.

better just shuffle two decks, retaining the top card, and performing a slip force.

This is my favourite force but for some reason it doesn't seem very popular. The slip force was one of my early sleights from RRTCM and it has never been questioned and there are so many ways you can control the top card to achieve it.

An underated force I think
