Well the "Mental Photography Deck" (which I suspect is the one you are refering to) and the "Vanishing Bandana" trick are two very different items.

The Vanishing Bandana is only really a stage/parlour trick although it would probably play out reasonably at kids parties, so unless you are in a position to do this on a regular basis I would suggest you go for the "MPD".

If however you do stage/parlour magic, more so than CloseUp/Tables then the VB is an extremely fun routine. The magic itself with VB isn't amazing - it's the routine. It's fun to do and funny to watch.

For a review of Mental Photography Deck. See...

with vb the components are more than the some of there parts, just like the bannana can be vanished or eaten

Get the vanishing bandana, you can use the bandana routine, which i have won awards for, or you can use the other components seperatly for other effects

Go for the cards, they'll fit in your pocket

It all depends on which you would rather perfom, do you do more closeup or more platform? People will only be able to advise you based on the kind of magic that they perform, so from my point of view anything that can be done closeup is much more desirable than stuff which can anly really be performed in a platform setting.

So the decision is yours!
