Messing with liquid latex

Postby Ian The Magic-Ian » Sep 13th, '08, 22:13

This is what happens on a lazy saturday with liquid latex and fake blood.

I need to know if there's a "real" factor look to it. :WARNING: Contains fake blood, if you are sensitive to fake blood don't watch.

I'm quite proud of it. :P

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

It looks pretty darn real to me. Certainly real enough to get the WAUUUGH!! factor if you sprung it on someone by surprise.

Put it this way, Colin gouged his wrist the other day falling into the garden wall, and it looks a whole lot faker than that.

Did you get this from reading Derren Brown??

If so, then you're up to no good, for sure. :P

Actually I had liquid latex before reading that but this did inspire me.
:P

I'm actually (my brothers hobby is amateur movies) making a rather gory movie with it and I'm in a lead role (of course) along with makeup person so I need to practice.

Plus it can't hurt to walk around with it on.

I'm getting real sick of you taffy. The first step is admitting you, taffy, have an innuendo problem.

Pretty gory, but wouldn't it look better and more realistic if you put a layer of liquid latex on first and then scraped some out. To me it just looks kind of like wet scabs, which I don't think exist...

Just my thoughts though.

Hope that helped! :D

Basically put on a layer of liquid latex, and then with some form of knife (not sharp though) gouge some of the latex out so if there was no latex there it would be like cutting into the skin. So it's more realistic?

I don't know though, never used liquid latex before so it might not be possible.

Liquid latex is white in it's pure form so and when it dries. I'd have to blend skin color though, but I get what your saying now. I'll try it.

I was THIS close to putting "messing with liquid latex" on Innuendo Bingo, but instead will content myself with this link (reasonably safe for work but may be embarrassing if someone's looking over your shoulder):
