Originally I posted a massive response to this - however in the interest of fairness to all, I wont hijack the thread which is supposed to be for people's opinions of the book and have instead decided to PM Farlsy the reply.

:)

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

I I have now read the book twice and only just started the DVD (glad I read the book first) and it is fantastic, if you are interested in this subject it’s a must buy item.

But I have some questions, is there a thread on this subject ?

Indeed. Perhaps we should set up a forum where we could share tips and techniques, etc - something like 'ripforum.co.uk' perhaps?

I have started one at hypnothoughts.com with over 50 people and there is a private page at streetsleights.co.uk but only a few know about that.

I've seen it at £22.50 as an instant download on www.magicshop.co.uk, now Ijust need to make some money.

I don't actually plan to use some horrible, twisted money making scheme, just for the record.

I would strongly advise you rather to buy it from Mr. Jacquin directly, in print for the same price, because you will read it whenever you have the opportunity and you will read it again. Though you spend the price of a beer for the postage, you will enjoy much better, receiving it spiral bound, than reading it on your screen or printing it out yourself. And usually people receive the book only 1 or 2 days after they order.

I would go for the printed version, you could not do as good a job as the one supplied, as well as receiving the DVD with the book.

Go get it !!

My God, it's taken a week to read in 4 sessionsevery single page of this epic 30 page thread. I have to say I'm as sceptical as anyone on here could be & probably wouldn't believe this stuff until it had been done on me & I had video footage.

I have long been making some of my mentalism routines look like hypnosis but all of this from my own brain & all has no REAL hypnotic effects, they were just designed to look the part.

This thread has really got me by the short & curlies though & once some accounting, advertising & website updating this WILL be my next purchase.

I know that a dvd used to be included & I also know that 2 (soon to be 3) manuscripts will be free to magicians which is excellent, just wondered if the stuff from the dvd was the clips from your youtube channel or if was actual teaching material?

Cheers,

PS Come on you can tell me honestly now, is this stuff for real?

Then that's the deal clincher. I'd order today if I didn't have lots of stuff to do, I know this will eat away my life once I have it. Although I have just discovered that there is a sample of the text at magicshop.co.uk. Drat, drat & double drat.

Hi Russ,

if I had the ability to make this up then my mentalism would be much better than it is :)

Come and join us on The Manchurian Course - Hypnotism for Magicians on the 18th and 19th April and you will find out.

The DVD is essentially a training video of my ugly mug to camera explaining the ins and outs of every technique outlined in Reality is Plastic. I demo the technique to camera. This is followed by a live demonstration with a real subject and then a full explanation.

On any course I run some people understandably have a need to get hypnotized before they get their head around it. Others just take the bull by the horns and have a go on someone else and prove it that way. Trust me when you are 'invisible' and someone is freaking out because their chair is levitating it is proof enough - for most anyway.

Best regards and feel free to contact me directly with any questions.

Anthony
