New to this site,
I love close-up magic.... I'm an SH :D
I'm 17. English. Male.
I've made a collection of gimmicked decks, i also have the gecko, and enjoy learning new magic tricks.
I will only learn a magic trick if it amazes me personally.
If it can amaze and baffle me, then it can certainly baffle and amaze the majority around me....
If you have any new magic gimmick tricks you've bought that work well close-up, please advise me towards them :)
thanks, -Wolves_167

EDIT--
okay okay, i've got a lot of posts saying why only gimmicked decks, and i guess i didnt mention but of course i use a normal deck, thats what i used for around 2 years before i came into the gimmick deck sets. I've learnt many tricks from oil and water to 2 card monte, 3 card monte, david blaine various tricks, erm evrything i could get my hands on!

the only reason i like gimmicks at the moment is because there is no logical explanation to them if it were a normal deck. So please don't go saying I'm a cheat by only using gimmicked decks! i love sleight of hand...

Ah, I didn't mean that to sound insulting. I'm just saying that if he wants some new stuff, then perhaps some regular good old fashions hand skills (Bingo!).

Most of us prescribe to the view of books over tricks, so there's so much more to recommend, and to learn, from that approach.

If he only wants to use gimmicked decks and stuff then that's fine too, I've never been one to force my ideas on others and there's no reason you can't be successful doing that.

Twas merely a suggestion as he asked for bought tricks in particular. 8)

Kinda makes it a bit sad to quote it when they've acknowledged it, doesn't it?

Sure does my friend, :D
Any how lets return to the original thread!

I highly reccomend Royal road to card magic and / or Mark Wilsons complete course in magic.

I know its not 'gimmick', but you'll go a lot further reading these than buying any prop or gimmick, (And the knowledge they contain is much more valueable than a stand alone trick, and usually are half the price!)

Hiya and welcome to TM, that's some good advise from Taffy. While they're not gimmick orientated Royal Road and Mark Wilson are great books to learn from. Also The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks has sections on the stripper and svengali decks.

so don't worry I'm not an abuser of gimmicked decks :)
i just love the un-explainable ways of a gimmicked deck towards the ignorant of magic tricks..... :)
