Part-Timer wrote:For a long time, they kept on messing around with the third Monster Munch flavour. There was roast beef and pickled onion, but the last one changed lots of times. I seem to recall a tomato sauce flavour, and before that it might have been something like smoky bacon.

Now the main ones are Flamin' Hot, which were "Mega Monster Munch"

Thanks for the Um Bongo commercial! I was desperately trying to remember that song just last week.

You lot might enjoy browsing through this shop: Cybercandy
The stock here changes often as things drop in and out of availability. I see they now have dice-shaped lollipops for magicians!

Oh for the days when a Walnut Whip has a walnut hidden on the bottom as well as the top!!

Or Toffo's.... 'when a man's gotta chew what a man's gotta chew..'

Texan bars were the best though... just don't keep it in the fridge - the nougar would transform into a diamond like hardness and one bite would cause the coating to explode like a chocolate frag grenade!!

And while we're at it.... bring back Gammon flavour Tudor crisps!!

Don't really miss any snacks but would kill for a bowl of Kellog's Start. That stuff was incredible.

I bought the Cybercandy mystery parcel a few weeks ago. Can recommend that to anyone!

It had several bits and pieces I remember from growing up in the US, such as Twizzlers, SweeTarts, and Goetz's Caramel Creams. Also a lot more that I've never heard of, even in the US -- such as a half-size scale model of a hot dog in a bun (with mustard), made of marshmallow. And of course lots of other stuff, including Finnish lemon-filled liquorice and Swedish marshmallow traffic signs.

Possibly the freakiest thing in the box is a gigantic lollipop from Japan in the shape of a beer mug. Slightly afraid to try it, as knowing the Japanese it may well be beer-flavoured. I think I'll have to dig out my Japanese dictionary to see what the label says.

Lucky Charms the cereal is also sorely missed, although can be purchased at a premium for £8.99 a box at Harvey Niccols. They hoarde them; it's a bit like the whole Absolute Magic / Pure Effect debate!

Even Kellogs Corn Pops are unavailable. Also, you don't seem to get any free toys inside cereal packets these days.

Plus, with public awareness about artifical flavours, salt and eating healthy, lots of existing products across the board taste completely different to how they did say a year or two ago: Tizer and Pot Noodles have lost their exquisite taste and colour now that they contain no artificial colours and flavourings. It's a shame as I was quite partial to the occasional Sweet and Sour Pot Noodle

Fanta Fruit Twist has gone the same way, it used to guarenteed to send me on a complete high, now I get hardly even a sugar buzz from it.

flying saucers, sweet tobacco, milk bottles, and black jacks were my candy prefference.

but what i remember most of all was the pain caused by milk icecream.
it was a rock hard milk flavoured rectangular block of ice craem, that was served in a special square cornet. It melted withing seconds, yet remained solid enough to break your teeth.

it was selling this ice cream, that probably kept my local Bunces going .

I also remember my first Slush puppy. It was like drinking frozen meths.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

I managed to pop in to Cybercandy last week, and although there's some amazing stuff in there (mostly American as opposed to retro), the prices are ridiculous and I did see a stack of PopTarts which were over a year out of date.

Rufio, Can't believe you mentioned Lucky Charms, they were my favourite! I used to eat bowls of these on a Saturday morning watching, ahem, Denver the last dinosaur! :D
