hi all! im a 15 years old boy from portugal, who allways had an interest for magic/illusionism, but never had a chance to learn tricks, but i was fortunate enough to get a quite heavy book explaining "all" basic tricks, and im having a blast trying them with my friends and family.

i searched for this forum, because some tricks i dont understand how they work, and ive been enjoying magic so much, i thought joining a forum about it could only be good =).

i may have some interest about getting serious in/on it (sorry for asking english tips, my english isnt that good yet) since, as said before, im enjoying it like i do with a very few things...

I guess thats all, and thanks for the forum, i hope in some time i can start being more active on it as my experience grows.

"Cheers"

Hiya and welcome to TM, one great book to get your hands on is Mark Wilson's Complete Course. It's a brilliant book that covers a wide range of different types of magic

Mark Wilson owes you a serious favour Lady of Mystery!

Hi Khazar welcome to T.M. If there is any particular direction in magic that you would like to take I'm sure everyone here will help.

Well by direction we mean all the different types of magic: Coin,Card,Rope, Mental etc.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

thanks. right now ive been only been doing cards, when i feel i have a good amount of tricks with them, ill see what else.
btw, would it be asking too much if you could send me a page or something, just a quick explanation, about where each type of magic excells, like, at dinners, in the street, partys, etc? or just explaining them in general...i only seem to find harry potter fans, or "real" magic, like wicka and stuff like that...

thanks again for the support =)

yeah what i meant was if you want to learn a particular style or you want advice on routine and patter.
You wont get exact instructions on how to do things just lots of good advice and a point in the right direction, for example you say your found of card magic most people would suggest you buy a book called 'The royal road to card magic', if you want to perform stage or close up people will tell you what they've learnt from experience etc.
