Hi everyone

I just want to say how fantastic this site is for help and information with anything and everything that is worth knowing about... and the many many items to stay away from.
The banter is brill and it's just a very friendly place.

I've been learning basic card magic for a while now and with many helpful people advising on the best books to buy to start off. I started with The Royal Road and although the diagrams are not the best in the world the description and step by step explainations are top notch. I now feel confident to show what I've learnt to Friends and family the tricks I have over learnt. The overall outcome has been great! I dont feel that I am able to go to the streets and perform just yet but as everyone knows family and friends are the worst critics and all I have heard since showing my new skills is "How did you do that" and "Please show me how thats done". All these comments have been shrugged off and ignored as I tell them good things come to those who wait.

Since then I have bought the Encyclopedia of Card Tricks and only flicked through the pages as I am still improving shuffling techniques.
But a book that I am obsessed with right now is J.B. Bobo's Moden Coin Magic.
Since I have 5/6 impressive card magic tricks imprinted in my head I feel that I need and want to learn sleight of hand to the best of my possibility. (I know this is going to take a VERY Long time, but boy it'll be worth every effort).

I've been looking at various magic shop sites and the gizmo's that they sell and most of these can be learnt without the gimmicks if sleight of hand is masterd. More impromt magic can be done anywhere at anytime when you have the skill. Plus in my own mind I feel it gets more respect from others alike when it is all natural sleights instead of a gimmick.

I have never been so obessed with an interest other than playing guitar until I decided to take an interest from watching to actually doing and creating.

I want to thank everybody on here for there help, support and time they give to All serious magicians everywhere.

Many Thanks!

Glad you're enjoying the forum. I also find it incredibly helpful; it's invaluable to be able to pick the brains of people who really know their craft and share experiences with people fumblng along the same as me!
