I think he's quite trustworthy. His book is good, except for all the debunking and psychic baiting rubbish. Oh no. I've opened a can of worms. I'll stop now.

But yes Chris - you should get your book. Can't imagine him doing a bunk.

Young Ian sold svengali decks for me when he was about 12 years old at the Bolton Ideal Homes Exhibition. How can he possibly be trustworthy?

I am afraid Ian is rather a controversial figure among psychic readers and mentalists. This has biased a lot of people against his book and it is difficult for them to be objective about it.

Most people who do psychic readings are violently opposed to his book and this is not surprising concerning the tone of it. There is useful information in it but I do not know of a single experienced psychic who uses one technique from it. The major flaw in the work is that Ian has never done a paid reading in his life.

That one thing has condemned the book to hell I am afraid.

However he writes well, is highly intelligent and despite my earlier comment about his trustworthiness I do have a gut instinct that you will indeed receive the goods for which you have paid.

Got the book twice (autographed twice - he gave me a second one to replace the first that was so dog-eared it had fallen apart) and had a nice long chat about how come he's a fridge magnet. Nice bloke.

"Full Facts" is a compendium of techniques for the experienced cold reader, not an introduction to the field.

Heh. Mine fell apart too.

It used to say on Ian rowland 's website (or in his book, I can't remember) that he often takes a while to respond to orders. This is not out of incompetence, but because he responds personally and is often very busy for most of the year.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Yet.

Three days? I thought you were going to say about a month! Three days is nothing.

I ordered Ian's Blackpool Lecture Notes (well worth having by the way!) and they took about a week to arrive. No big deal just Royal mail taking their own sweet time as usual....

Ian is very reliable. Really nice guy. Will definately send you the book but as others have said, a very busy man. Three days is nothing to a busy pro.

It may be nothing to a busy pro but he isn't acting as a pro magician when he is sending out orders. He is acting in the capacity of a mail order supplier. In that case three days is actually on the slow side. Orders should be sent out the day they come in.

Could someone point me in the direction of a good introduction then? I do have the Full Facts book and despite me only dipping a tentative toe into the murky waters of mentalism, i found a lot of it very useful.
