Help? - Stage Effect

Postby kevin.chris » Oct 2nd, '08, 15:22

Hey,
havent been here for a long time. Couple of years : S. Sorry for that but now im looking for a effect what would be just way off like "Master Prediciton System" but something a little bit cheaper. To 1000 dollar or something like that, it can be a little bit more expensive or offcourse cheaper, but killer! Something what i can do on stage for a crowd like 1000 and more or at big Rock Concert where you can invite audience and really blow their mind. ;)

Like i earlier sayd i found that "Master Prediction System" but its too expensive. So maybe you can recommend some effects what would fit for big crowd. Also i found that "Dream Prediction Lite by Paul Romhany" what is a lot more cheaper but i dont like it because its seems like... not clean or somethin but its same at base as that Prediction System so i would be very thankful when you will recommend something. : )

Thanks,
Kevin.

you dont need to spend a penny , in order to get the same effect as either of these props.

force , and you can draw the prediction as big as a house.

you could perform the air tight predicion, with it inside a balloon, ( Im sure Craig will say the same) price of this? How much is a pack of ballons, and a pad of paper? and it plays big.

book test.In an old david copperfield special, ( Its on youtube) orson welles did a book test.

he had spectators chose one book, from fifty books, and then had the prediction inside a film canister, that was inside a block of ice.

big on impact, and it filled the stage yet when you look at it, its one book, and a t.t!

so, if your looking for big.. dont buy big.

think big

totally agree with Dale, another effect that works brilliantly on stage is Annemann's Phantom Artist.

It's also available with Richard's 'Transparent Forces'.

Quite expensive (although a lot cheaper than the prediction chest) is Devin Knight's 'Tri-Epic':

"If you are looking for a large visual stage mental effect, then look no further!

Tri-Epic is an updated mental epic type effect, but without the old fashion chalk boards, and WITH NO ONE-AHEAD method.

Tri-Epic is new, novel and different!

If you liked David Copperfield's Graffiti Effect then you will love this. Creates a similar effect WITHOUT ANY OFFSTAGE OR SECRET ASSISTANTS! It's direct from Devin Knight's own touring show and has been an audience pleaser for over 3 years. It's based on a John Moyer idea that Devin improved upon.

Effect

Performer invites 3 people on stage. These are not stooges and no pre-show work has been done. A 17" x 23" corkboard is seen on an easel. Clipped to it is an envelope. Inside is a prediction and this is given to one of the spectators to hold before the effect begins.

One person freely selects the front page of one of three newspapers on a table. No force of any kind, the one he picks up to pin to the corkboard is the one used.
That clean.

A deck of jumbo cards is shown to be all different. Performer takes one card at a time in his hand and allows another person to say stop at any time. The card you are holding is given to them. They can change their mind if they want too as many times as they like until they decide on a card.

The third person is shown a clear bag of markers just like they came from the store. A clear bag complete with the real brand name and barcode. Doesn't appear to be a magic prop, but an actual bag of markers bought from an office supply store. He reaches in and selects one.

He draws a picture of the selected on the newspaper using his chosen marker. The person holding the prediction opens it, NOT THE MAGICIAN and removes a folded newspaper from it. When the paper is opened it is the same front page of the freely chosen newspaper. Drawn on the paper in the same color marker as chosen by the third person is the selected card chosen by the 2nd person!

Includes the new improved store bag for the marker selection. This bag can be used in other routines and is the most convincing and logical way to select a marker on the market today. Includes two other handlings for the selection of a marker not using the clear bag. In one version the spectator selects a marker from a handful held behind his back and this is used to draw the card.

Comes complete with large corkboard, jumbo card deck, marker bag, envelopes and easel. The revised directions are now a nicely produced spiral bound book."

Personally, I think Dale's got the right idea. Take a small effect and make it big.
