Internet Magic - "Tricks that look great when recorded on a webcam and then posted on YouTube, but fall apart instantly when attempted in the real world."

I LOVE IT!! Hit the nail on the head!

I got this definition while reading Jason England's review of Kevin Parker's new effect Canfuse in Magic Magazine, Oct 08.

This is what so many kids who are looking for a shortcut to magic are missing.

It was so spot on, I wanted to share it with you all!

Case in point- David Blaine, Criss Angel

But we cheat too, correct?

Although a more correct case in point would be this:

So obvious. Even most laymen will figure this out. And so are the rest of his "dare to believe" series. Of course, it's entertaining in the "I can't believe he thinks people will be fooled by this!" way.

Archimage writes, in part: ". . . so many kids . . . are looking for a shortcut to magic . . ."

Ah, it was ever thus.

Just to point out that this is not a recent problem, almost 25 centuries ago, Alexander the Great was told that, even though he would someday be king, "there is no royal road to learning."

In short, anything of value take effort. Period.
