A few weeks ago, incredibly frustrated at my poor Bobo Switch, I put my coins away. Picked them up tonight and it works just fine. Gotta love it when stuff comes together like that. It's like, dare I say it, MAGIC

That has happened to me on numerous occasions...didn't like how something looked/worked/feels so put it away out of frustration, then revisit it when relaxed and no self imposed stress, pressure or pretenses and whoohoo off you go...maybe a lesson to be learnt here really!

I think sometimes you can just try too hard to get something right. I know that I've had lots of times when I've just not been able to get something right. I've taken a break from it and when I've come back to it I've got it straight away.

The subconscious mind has such an amazing ability to work things out for itself, if you leave it alone for a while.

I think coin sleights are especially prone to this. You can end up doing a switch a couple of hundred times in front of the mirror.... until by the end you have no idea what looks good or not and you end up just noticing the faults. I prefer to sit in front of the telly and repeat the move ad nauseum until the muscles in my hand are totally programmed to do it. Then later on I'll head for the mirror and hopefully 'surprise myself with it' (done on purpose so no point in putting it in the bingo hall!!).
