Real names vs nicknames

At the end of the day, when you've been around a while you know the real names of people anyway. Other than that for my part I prefer not to show my name.

i think it's cool to allow the distance a forum name affords us. personally, i really am known as houdinia! (well... more often houdi or houds). i think people still have the choice to leave their name in their profile. as long as you're not using your identity for sinister purposes it's ok. it does worry me that people could use the real name of someone else though, like what happened to Matt Edwards.
