Overall, I think Mr Wilson gets my vote too.
I remember trying to learn some card sleights from a Hugard book (no "RRtCM" though) and got thoroughly fed up with trying to follow things with the old-fashioned descriptions and the lack of illustrations ("They are not tattoos, they are skin illustrations" - bonus point to anyone who can identify that quote).
Then I got the Mark Wilson book and, look, pictures. Lots of pictures. You can follow what he's saying because there are pictures.
That was when I learned to false riffle shuffle and I've never looked back.
I know "RRtCM" is a classic, but I went straight for "Card College", partly because of my dislike for Hugard's style (the other reason was that it covers much more recent sleights as well as old ones).
Now, if only I could get around to practising...
