Bottom line...experience is gained over time and not something we all inately carry with us from day one. Tolerance for people on the learning curve is important. I certainly have made my share of mistakes (that I learn from along the way) that have helped shape the quality of the services I offer today.

To all full time kids performers...."you are my heros" I used to really struggle with kids shows....over time I have developed routines, themes, and the ability to make them flow more effectively. I no longer dispise them (the show, not the kids themselves), but they certainly are not the most relaxed enviornement I perform in.

I have tolerance for people who are learning. I have zero tolerance for people who are teaching in the wrong way. In other words the magic cafe twits talking tosh.

For heavens sakes will you just GROW UP! I don't want to see ONE MORE POST on this Topic by Mark, unless it's a self-humbling apology. It's making me sick to my stomach. How old are you? Do you really think you're being mature Mark. Making three saracstic, rude, arrogent remarks in a row. I'm sick of this forum. I'm mostly angry at you Mark. Your acting like a three year old trying to show off! I'm sick of your childish behaivior. I don't want you to make some other post about how great you are, or making fun of any other memebr, or bragging about yourself. It belittles you to an extent which I almost believe you are incapable of comprehending. This forum is to discuss magic, NOT to show how immature you can act. I hope it stays that way, because I'm sick of your pride and childishness. I think that you owe Memorire a solid apology, and yourself a little disceplin. I do not mean to hurt you mark, though your skin already seems thicker than an elephants.
I really wish you would take a step back and look at what you've written. I think you'd be embasseresed of it if you did, and perhaps get a clearer perspective of what you're saying to people. It's time to start behaiving maturely now. I don't want you to leave the forum. I just want you to behave properly, and I know you can. If you can do that (which I'm sure you can),than I'm sure we can all get along fine. :D

Best regards to all of you, including mark

And once again mark, I do not mean to be against you at all. I hope we can all get along fine, I just wanted to make sure this didn't get out of control. I realize that you're a great performer, and I respect that very much. I'm sure that if you wanted to apologize, memorire would greatly appriciate it. That's all. :D

Best Regards

Dearie me. We appear to have an eruption from another child who cannot spell or punctuate. No doubt he is an American. Alas their education system is not quite up to par and is on a standard comparable to their ability at entertaining children.

The poor chap does not seem to know whose side he is on. I do wish he would make up his mind. First he seems to be on my side and then he appears to be on the memory child's side. Most confusing.

Alas the boy does not understand humour. I rather think he needs to get a sense of it.

I would suggest that instead of jumping up and down like a demented flea that his energy would be better employed studying what I have to say concerning the entertainment of children of whom he is obviously one.

He will forget me in an instant if he puts his mind to it. However the information I have imparted can stay with him for life.

Now be a good lad and read again what I had to say. You won't learn anything acting like a fish you know.

A fish? You are now wondering what I meant by that. Think about it.......................

Gary, this is your one and only warning. Do not use phrases like that on TM - no exceptions.

Dearie me. This gentleman is obviously from the Gorbals. Very working class area of Glasgow. I am afraid they do not express themselves very well from that part of the country.

Furthermore if his intelligence were two points higher he would be a plant.

I rather think he would be better employed learning how to entertain children properly and I suggest that he reads my advice on how to do it.

If on the other hand he is one of those Scottish card magicians of whom there are several thousand who do interminably complicated card tricks I would suggest that if he asks politely I may be able to advise him on that too. I get a psychic vibe that he really needs to lessen the boredom threshold for his audiences and I am sure that in my capacity as one of the world's greatest card magicians I can advise him on that too.

I really do think that he needs to improve himself otherwise he is making a very bad case for Scottish independence. I do realise that Scotland is only a tiny peninsula jutting off the north coast of England so naturally the poor soul has an inferiority complex. If I were an impolite person I would merely say that he is inferior in the first place and needn't bother with the complex. However as is well known I am a model of tact and decorum and would suggest that if he thinks positively and learns to express himself in a more socially acceptable manner then he will have a chance to progress.

I do hope he does so.

lol

guys...lets just ignore the guy. he is quite hilarious thugh i might admit :)

actually mr. louis is pretty funny when it comes to his post hehe

still a suggestion to mods - would you mind locking the thread? since mr. louis remarks might (and have provoked) some rather emotional remarks from myself and others and it might continue :)

and mr. louis...you might think of giving the advice here to yourself...you do behave like the aforementioned kids who are everybodys pain in the a*s.

and seriously the last thing i write to you on this thread - grow up and get a life. or start showing respect to others as you demand it from us too. i dont know why mods tolerate such a behaviour here, but even if you can get away with it it doesnt means you should do it! the way you behave you are disgracing yourself. you believe your remarks are eloquent and full of acerbic wit that will make us all stare at you with awe and admiration and bow our heads before your superiority? they dont. they are just some silly remarks of an old man who does have talent as an entertainer but no grace or uhm sanity of a normal human being. oh yeah i know you are god and not a normal human being. so spare with that. get a grip of your ego mr. louis and be nice. it wont hurt you and hey maybe youll find out that we all can get along fine.

oh and speaking of your qualities of a teacher...the advice you gave in this thread was surprisingly solid and nice (at least to my understanding - as mentioned before i dont do kid shows and dont plan to). but you know what would be better? if youd do it nicely and friendly. then if i am ever going to use it i wont say "yeah learnd this from some bitter old fart" but id say "i learned it from mark lewis who was a great mentor". maybe you dont care about that mr. louis but you know it wont hurt if you are nice.

Mods, please dont delete this post (or if you have to send a copy of it to mr. louis as a pm or something)

thanks a lot and best regards

Oh do stop fussing my boy. You should take knowledge from wherever quarter you can find. You can either take it from polite twits on the magic cafe who will lead you astray with bad advice or from crusty old men who were doing magic when you were breast feeding. You will make far more progress listening to me than listening to the incompetents of the magic world and holy rollers of the magic cafe.

Now since you have no interest in children's shows then perhaps you should ask me a question about any other matter. I do happen to know everything and that should be perfectly obvious by now.

You can either spend your time on this thread fussing and fuming like the other children here or you can make use of the genius who is among you.

Therefore ask a question and I shall supply the answer. I am sure there are things that you want to know.

Well?

For someone so intent on belittling forum members on their puncutation and grammer, one would think Mark Lewis might be capable of forming proper sentances. Alas, this seems to be called into doubt.

I do think many of the above posts are overreactions to Mark's, shall we say, form of expression. On a past occasion, I have been just as annoyed at his comments as you seem to be (my post in objection was deleted, naturally  ) but soon realised it's just the way the guy talks. Take it with a pich, well, shaker of salt. Realise that nobody could really say such things with complete sincerity. Have a sence of humor about it! Some of it is really quite funny! Don't go leaving any forums over it....

He's not funny at all. His every second post includes such insipid comments - there's definitely sme underlying issues of inferiority and xenophobia. I know I should ignore it but it IS unacceptable - regardless of how old and common it is. The moderators on this forum should show a little more backbone and do something about it like their counterparts on www.MagicCafe.com. Gary if you like the cafe so much go there and don't come back - you're banned as will be several others unless they read the rules about not making personal attacks - this is not the schoolyard so just grow up and start being the magicians you claim to be.

hah actually he is amusing :) imagine this: an old man in his age who should know better, but he sits on a forum in the internet, says he is god basically, and behaves like a 5 year old child, insulting and irritationg everybody else :) if he takes himself seriously it is sad but very very funny...if he does not...well i cant imagine that ;) so uhm why take him serious? and if you dont hes funny :) reminds me of ewoks from star wars - how they run to you and jump on your leg all excited and talking gibberish ;)

i agree with you though that the moderators should have told him to behave.

moodini thanks a lot :)

best regards to all of you!
