increase impact for 2CM

Postby flaw07 » Dec 3rd, '08, 04:21

ok i wasn't sure where to post this, but i figured ths was a good place cause well its a little tip i'd like to share i guess.

anyway, i was at school yesterday, and i performed a routine for a few guys, opening with Stigmata like Grimshaw suggested, great idea btw, really drew the guys in. anyway, in my routine i performed the Two Card Monte(my favorite magic trick ever) with a cards to pocket finish, and got amazing reactions as that trick and only provide. So today at school i got stopped by two of the guys i routined for yesterday who had a few of thier friends with them who just wanted to see 2CM, but they wanted solid proof the cards in my pocket were the same Kings i used at the start of the trick(i use kings and aces for it) so i had them sign both kings, and when i finished with the cards in pocket, it literally sent two of the four guys running away from me and the other two jaws open speechless.

so for those of u who love 2cm and insane reactions, there you go.

enjoy

Why is "Two Card Monte" the only capitallization you used?

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

its the internet, no real need to be picky about things like that so long as you grasp the main idea

Thanks for the idea but refering to the rules.

8. Where possible please try to avoid over using "Text Speak" (I.e. txtspk) or abbreviations in any messages posted. It would also be appreciated if messages are checked for grammar, spelling and typos. It is accepted that from time to time bad spelling, grammar and typos will occur, however the over abundance of these mistakes in a message will make it difficult for others to read and comprehend.

ok then, you win, my bad. i will honestly admit i didn't read that when i signed up but will.
Anyway, its still a good idea to let your spectator sign the first two cards you present if you are ending with a card to pocket or something like that. Just be careful as it could be possible to reveal the trick if you get sloppy with it.

I had dinner with Mr Blaine, about 5 years ago and he suggested something similar to this. However his idea was to use dupes and load them into the specs pocket before you start.

Another angle perhaps??

Get some tutorial material on put-pocketing. I suggest you check out the work of Byrd and Coates.
