Magicians Tarot Deck

Postby Replicant » Dec 7th, '08, 14:24

Just thought I'd mention this for anyone who might be interested; it looks like a nice deck. Don't know how easy it would be to read with, but certainly looks like a nice collector's item. Does anyone own it or know where I can get it? No joy on Google.

That is a nice deck - hopefully someone can reveal where it can be bought.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I NEED IT! But I fear this may just be someone's "project" and not an actual commercial product.

Please prove me wrong! I need these cards in my collection!

Rather lovely in my opinion.

However, those others - if there was an emoticon for being sick, that would be what i'd use. They've taken beautiful designs, and trashed them with some ill advised PhotoShop work.

I like the vampire ones but they're to expensive for pure curiosity.

Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Not a tarot deck but a nice deck of playing cards here. Each card has a different design and a different font. They look pretty cool and cost $10 which isn't that much, unfortunately I don't know how much postage is. Although if the postage is cheap I might buy myself a pack after Christmas.

A lot of those cards were good but a few of them are...c*** (not the best). I really liked the ace and king of clubs though.

If anyone is interested about the deck I just mentioned it is $9.40 standard postage and $8.00 for the deck so that is $17.40 altogether. Although at the moment that's about £11.67 so that's quite an expensive pack of cards...

I really liked those decks and I've just bought 5. Postage worked out at $16 dollars to Europe so that's just over $11 per deck or £7.60 per deck.

I didn't think that was too bad for such an unusual deck

I have the Bohemian Gothic and also its sister the Victorian Romantic. I like them both, and if doing readings in a more formal setting rather than "on the hoof" or during table-hopping, I will offer the sitter the choice. People will usually opt for the darker Bohemian Gothic which at first surprised me; I assumed that people would go for the lighter Victorian Romantic. However people tell me that they think to themselves "Well, if I'm having a tarot reading I may as well have one that's a bit dark and edgy."

I personally just prefer the Victorian Roamntic, but I also love the Bohemian Gothic. There are just one or two imagies in the Gothic deck that are a bit cheesey - one involving the wolfman and one that is supposed to be the original movie Dracula (bald head, thin, pointy nose) but just looks like Eddie Munster 40 years on.

I often mix the two decks together. That works very well. If you can find cards that are the same size (eg the Victorian Gothic and Bohemian Gothic) I would encourage anyone to mix 'n' match to create their own unique deck.

They're really nice cards, I've just been looking at the other decks that they do too and really like the Fairytale Tarot. I don't really like dark tarot cards all that much.

Lommy, if you like that Fairytale Tarot deck, you might be interested to know that Lisa Hunt is releasing a Fairy Tale Tarot deck in the spring...

The illustrations are beautiful and I prefer it to the Magic Realist Press version.
