It should be remembered that Olivers world, often crossed into ours.
In particular Oliver postage was responsible for designing and building a puppet side kick for David Nixon.
that puppet's name, was Basil Brush.

Bagpuss is due to be Revived next year, as he was recently purchased from Oliver. I believe that a new series is being currentlt filmed, and that it will closely follow the original format

That is really sad news, I heard it on the local news this morning as he lived around here somewhere.
I used to love Bagpuss when I was little, I used to have a couple of the mice who'd sing away when you pressed their tummies.

Perhaps the best thing was that he never talked down to children. Nogin the Nog looked like it was directed by Ingmar Bergman, all dark and mysterious. And that voice... That's childhood right there, that is.
