well for a start PM'ing people and telling them to go and look ISNT the right way to go about it!

as for the site itself, theres nothing there?!?!?! a forum with 3 topics isnt going to win "best magic forum" is it?... there aren't even any posts from yourself on it... only comments such as "post your general talk here"

I'm sorry to be the one to say this but i dont think it will get much in the way of traffic.... sorry

It does help to post some topics yourself to get people talking though

Every forum starts small.

yes this is true .... BUT there is also a big input from the forum owner before the site is open to the public...i mean lets face it... all you have done is use a free forum source code and you now expect everyone else to fill the forum for you?...you have put no input into it yourself so why should others?

Master, I did try and post but it didn't seem to work. Saying that though in all honesty why would we want to post, we have a perfectly good site here.

All the best

posted an intro.

love your site so uncluttered, the pics of you are just amasing, your biography realy helped me get the feel of who you are, did you realy meet bill bixby on you telly being the hulk? loved it.
the pics and explanation of you first trick must have taken you ages of time for research, and the list of people who made you who you are was a nice touch.

this site has lots of potential, the pages requesting people to submit origional work in exchange for a mini bio is just short of inspirational, the links page to free tricks on the web is very usefull and so is the list of books and dvd's that you have found helpfull, nice to see you have encouraged people to add there own.

this part of your site is currently under construction in my mind and i hope you will have the time to implement it soon in the meen time a mention and links to talkmagic and emagictricks and other magic sale sites will only help to increase your customer base :D
i wish you every success in you venture.

first of all make a home page on your site thats like an expanded version of your introduction on this forum then you can direct people to your bio instead of a chat forum, then if people want to use your chat site they will, we have a good chat site here if you want people to use yours as well then give them somethings to think about.

you can direct people to your bio

when you have a page set up then add the web address to your profile, you can make a post in the misc section saying you have a new site and would like people to give advice on improving it.
check out some of the other peoples web sites on this forum for ideas.

You need to offer something that people want. So for example.

Magic related Jokes
Free tricks
Interesting magic related Facts
Useful links to magic resources

If you have this kind of stuff and you let people know, they will want to go.

So for instance lets say you managed to collect a fair number of magic jokes, when you did a post on any magic forum you could have a joke in your signature and include a link where the joke was taken from. You would not need to ask people to go to the site, people that found the joke funny and were interested in more, would just go there. You could then state that anyone that knew any other good clean magic jokes, could they please post them on the forum and the best would be included on the joke page.

I don't know, that's just off the top of my head, the thing is use your imagination, if you haven't got one, MagicDiscoMan has plenty spare.
