try Wayne Houchins stigmata and learn his number force(lifted straigh from pyscological subtleties) it is a great mentalism trick and unbearably easy to do. It is one of the first effects I learned and to this day I have friends who have seen it many times and they still request it at parties.

Also look for anything from Rich Fergison(Ferguson SP anyone), the creator of Tagged which is a great mentalism trick. Or any book by Banachek. Tricks of the Mind by Derren Brown has a section on suggestibility and hypnosis and I'm currently reading Conversational Hypnosis by an author whose name I can't seem to remember off the top of my head. But it's good too.

Hope this helps

thank you flaw07. I already have Stigmata, and I also love it, but what I am searching is more like mentalism without cards - and yes ofcouse Stigmata also can be done without, but still the only thing I use from stigmata is the buisnisse card routine :)

Well I've just purchased 13 steps to mentalism by Corinda, but the next thing i'll by will probably be a muscle reading by Banachek.

Muscle reading is a major commitment, simple in principal it takes a while to master.

You want something that plays massive? Try hypnosis!!! If you haven't had a look at the Reality is Plastic review thread you should do so. Anthony Jacquin seems to be well on his way to having a personality cult!!!!

well I've got plenty of time. Practise practise and practise - you can always get better in the performing so I'm used to it. And if it takes a lot of time then ok. :D As long as I like the outcome I'm willing to take the time, to master it ;) I actually read an ebook called KillerMentalism where hypnosis also is mentioned and some few routines. I just can't remember the author, do you know the ebook?

Nah don't know the ebook.

My problem when it came to practicing muscle reading was that you needed a fair few different subjects to practice with. If you have access to enough willing subjects then go for it!!!

Type Mathieu Bich into Youtube and check out some of his stuff. His torn and restored is a killer, Eject is like a cross between a haunted deck and rising card on steroids, and Spreadwave is brilliant too. Counterweight is an odditiy, probably not what you're looking for but still cool.

He's a cunning little chap, with some great effects.
