NAME THAT TRICK

Postby dat8962 » Dec 28th, '08, 01:32

A while back I saw a coin effect where four coins were vanished one at a time, and they appeared in a shot glass that sat under a larger upturned glass that was several feet away..

Both glasses stood on a wooden plynth.

I thought that this was a Viking Magic effect but I can't find it on their weg site.

Does anyone know the name of the effect so that I can search for one?

Help appreciated.

dat8926,

The trick you are looking for is called Copentro.

I don't know who, if anyone, markets it today, due to its unreliability.

cheers,

Thanks Peter

I did notice that Viking Magic/Collectors Workshop market a similar effect where the glasses appear to sit on a tray but I particularly wanted the one that sits on the wooden plynth and I think that the shot glass is covered with a glass dome.

I can now start looking at this in more detail having the name

That's good advice Jason and thank you.

I've seen this performed once and the base was rested on a table. I'll keep looking.

Just bought one from emagicshop who have a VAT free week so it came in new at just under £80. This is the newer Deluxe model so hopefully any glitches will have been ironed out. I'll post a review after I've had a play.

Alakazam had it for just under £95.

Thanks again to Peter and Jason.
