I'm kind of enjoying the "it's not just me" aspect of this thread, but worry that it might be counterproductive...

Balloon hats aplenty, spongeballs and David Roth's Portable Hole routine... (about £5's worth!!)

What do they say about a fool and his money???

Tut.... talking about the price of things is soooo vulgar..... :)

However if anyone has the spare dosh I would recommend Approaching Magic..... I haven't used anything from it yet, but it's a really enjoyable and insightful read from a genuinely funny guy.

I remained relatively CUPS-free until that dang Replicant guy had to go and post the DVD sale being held by David Forrest/Full52.

All things considered, I've come out ok. However, walking down the street to the convenience store I nearly fell over as I walked by the newly-opened magic shop. I really don't want to go in there....

Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

This year I've focused mainly on stage and parlour effects, most of which were bought as presents.

Ooooooooh around eight hundred pounds all told. Replaced a lot of my existing kit. Invested in some original magic books, a couple of new "toys" and then today came my Astor ESP boxes. Very clever.

How did you accidentally spend $450?

They are the things you drink out of. Occassionally made out of china. Not to be confused with China naturally. :) See? I'm smiling. That was all a joke.

Compulsory Unnecessary Purchase Syndrome.

Or "spending a lot of money on stuff that probably isn't worth it but is so shiny it hurts"

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.
