We've all heard that Beyoncé is curvy, but has anyone watched her video to "Single Ladies"? Wow.

At the risk of a ticking off by a Mod, i'd like to say Beyonce is a sexist bitch. Banging on about how independent she is and how all the girls should stand up for themselves, it's so tiresome.

Why should it be a big deal that she bought the shoes she's wearing? I bought EVERYTHING I'm wearing but i dont feel the need to write a c*** (not the best) R and B song about it as if it's some kind of big deal. In fact i'd bet she didnt buy the shoes she's wearing, she probably got given them by a grovelling sponsor.

AND she's another one that sings around the melody. Wailing away proving she knows her scales.

Yawn. Been done. Keeps being done. Never gets any better.

She is hot though.

Damn straight.

On a serious note, what you said is very true. Mute the video, put on your favourite track and have her dance to it!

She's certainly a pretty girl. But actually, I think she's looking less "curvy" than she has in the past - her hip bones* are looking fairly pronounced in that video.

*It pains me to say that as it's anatomically incorrect, but using the correct terminology would make me look a pr*ck and everyone understands what you mean when you say "hip bones."

...probably not more of a pr*ck than this footnote, but anyway...

What is the anatomically correct version?
It's not being a pr*ck if someone asks

Anterior superior iliac spine. Often (almost always) abbreviated to ASIS.

(You can see how using the bulky 4 word term would have looked like I was showing off, and would also be confusing as it has the word "spine" in it but is nothing to do with the back. And using the abbreviation would really have made me look a pr*ck.

...however, the hips are infact the hip joints, the ball and socket joints that attach your legs to your body. They are fairly "deep" and not easily visualised from the outside. You don't *really* have a "hip bone", but if used it should refer to the greater trocanter of the femur, the bit at the side just below the joint which is well covered with muscle. This is well below what most people call the hip joint, i.e. the bit you might use to hold a basket or a baby, and is instead more the area you would use to bump a car door closed.)

That's a tremendous video - and for reasons beyond the obvious. But also for the obvious.

What always annoyed me about Beyonce though, was the fact that she presents herself as an 'independent woman', and a strong female rolemodel, but in more than one of the videos I've seen for her songs, she's writhing on a bed wearing next to nowt, or draping herself submissively off the arm of some bling-encrusted fella. Am I the only one that sees a mixed message in all of this?

In fact, I find the whole R&B genre quite horrible in the way it presents women.

I'm not a prude, I just abhor mixed messages like that, and think porn should be presented as porn (and don't get me started on WH Smith selling Playboy-branded stationary to schoolgirls).

But back to the subject, yes, she's an absolute wow in that video.

Shame about the pish-poor song though.

Pete

No you're not. It's exactly the same as the God awful Spice Girls, banging on about ' Girl power ', yet they were put together and managed by a man, whatshisface.......the guy Simon Cowell stole Pop Idol from. Think it was another Simon.

ANYWAY, by showing off her body and getting men aroused, she probably assumes that this demonstrates some kind of power over males. Presuming they'd do anything for her in exchange for a squish of her squishy bits. Of course after the squishing they'd just roll over and go to sleep so in your face Beyonce! Quite literally for some of you im sure.

She's a juxtaposition. Please note, i do not adore the Destiny Child, but for some reason two songs stuck in my head.

Independant women, and
i believe its called - I'll Cater for You...NOT about providing some sandwiches for a special event, but bringing "her man", his pipe, slippers and other such items. There's a good doggy.

She does occassionally pull a face like she's on the toilet, which i find rather offputting too.

Plus, to be fair, Jay-Z is one ugly fella, AND quite possibly one of the worst rappers in history, since marathon became snickers in fact.

It can't be his money, because she's minted too. So, it must be down past his knee i reckon.

Not only is he a poor rapper, but he had the audacity to say he's better than Nas. Oh dear.

I heard an interview with her and she claimed she looks for 100% personality in a man

I thought she looked hilarious. She has bigger hips than my grandmother too.
