Postby magicunlimited » Jan 5th, '09, 23:23

Well this is my first time going to the convention, i am going with a friend who is flying over for the event.

I hope its a good laugh and that we get to see some cool stuff in the exhibition rooms. Also are you all booked to see the gala show ?
We are staying at the Ruskin hotel does anyone have any info they could share on this timewarp hotel ?

If you have been to the convention before i would love to hear from you

Whos been before ?

Thanks all

There are several threads on Blackpool so check out the Search function for details. As for the Ruskin, "live and frantic magic plus lots of alcohol in the lounge and downstairs bar until the wee small hours" would be one way of describing it..... :D

Whatever you do, DO NOT wear a playing card tie and/or waistcoat, and dont walk around all day shuffling and spinning playing cards

Providing you dont do any of that, you will be absolutely fine :D

My first time going, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm a bit scared of the credit card bill afterwards though.

Dont be scared of the credit card bill! Just accept that it is inevitable....

I went to my first convention and spent everything. Don't bring anymore money than you need, I was told not to bring my money, said I'll be careful with my money and I'll come home with money but I didn't... Try to avoid bringing money.... I had to make a choice wheter to eat lunch or buy magic, I compromised and bought a cheap muffin and the magic...

Ah well, do what you want...

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.

Dang!
I claim you owe a round for being the person to win a silly amount of money on a talent contest this year.
Shall we all just call it even?
