IT advice

I just started using the thead, actually I bought it a few days ago. My point is that after opening it and separating one, it doesn't look so invisible to me, its black and its in zig-zag, kinda elastic. Any tips on how to use it and make sure people dont see it?

It shouldn't be very easy to see. If you pick your backgrounds, a dark or mottled background is best and don't use it directly under any bright lights you should be able to get away with it.

What about my hands?
It is clearly visible when my hand's color is behind

you know its there. So you will always see it.

just watch the lighting, as Lady of Mystery said.

Also, dont use it in a straight line between you, and the fixing point.
I find that most beginners use it almost like a washing line to hang things from, and this really gives it away.

play with it, and have fun, but dont rely on it, because sometimes the lighting gwont be right.

( just a thought, but have you stripped it out completely? you may still be using several strands together)

I'm not sure which thread you are using, but try backing off a little.

Just to convince yourself, attach it to something and hold it up in front of a mirror, step backwards until you can't see the thread.

The main threat to IT is reflections, not backgrounds. Some lights are worse than others at picking up the thread. You can often see the thread against the skin if you know where to look, but then there's no need to handle the thread in such a way that the hands are suspected, or even involved in the hook up.

Obviously, stronger threads are more visible, and more prone to being seen... that's why they're generally used on stage.

I keep going on and off thread work, each major method (IT/ITR/Loops) has it's advantages and weaknesses in ease of handling, strength and distance. Not to mention cost.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

I know what IT and ITR are but what about loops?

Do a search for Loops by Yigal Mesika or words to that effect.

Probably the easiest, most practical way to do IT, but limited.

And don't worry too much about it being seen anyway. If you're using it to float light objects, people will know it's on a thread any way. Floating objects is all about the grace and the dance, not so much about the method.

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.
