all the hotels are very much out of my budget I'm afraid.

Can anybody put me up for the night? I'll pay a small fee if needed!

I know of a couple of haunted rooms in the hall! Maybe you could sleep in one of those and get yourself sponsored to "last the night" for charity!

Does that last sentence sound strangely rude?

Would love to go, but couldn't afford the plain ticket let alone for the night. :P I hope all goes well though for everyone.

Not until you said something about it.

I'm also having problems finding a hotel in my price range, but I notice Middleton hall is 'set in 40 acres of woodland'.
Would I be allowed to bring a tent?

Just reread this thread and noticed a campsite mentioned.

You're not the only one wondering :)

Hmm.... 3/4 hour drive / 4 hour train journey - £60 train fair + accommodation. Doesn't seem so central to me :)

Indeed. I am in the same predicament! Brighton's too far away to be honest. I think I shall have to miss out :(.

Splends - at last something not in a distant and unnecessary part of Britain. I'll just check diaries to see if I can manage it (I hope so). However, though, I heartily cheer 'dressing for dinner' and the atmos of refined sinisterness it promotes, for me it'll probably have to peak at jeans, trainers and my least widely-offensive T-shirt. I'm pretty sure that I don't even own an actual pair of shoes.
