There's a ghost in my house!

Postby themagicwand » Feb 18th, '09, 23:53

Well, actually there isn't, but it's the title of one of my all-time fave grooves. However is there a ghost in your house?

Often in my line of work people come up to me and say "Ooh, we think we've got a ghost in our house! We never like going in the bathroom and we often hear weird noises from the spare bedroom" - that kind of thing. And I think to myself, "How do you sleep at night believing there's a ghost near by?!" And how do you go for a poo without thinking that at any moment a spectral hand will reach out and touch you in the unmentionables!? And not to mention making love... well, we try to not to mention it in our house to be honest.

Apparently when I was younger one of the my parents homes was haunted. I never noticed though - never had any weird "invisible friends" or anything. Well, as long as we're not counting Emily, that pasty faced Victorian girl who used to sneak into my bedroom at night...

So over to you folks. Is there a ghost in your house?! If so, exorcise your demons right here! That's exorcise, not excercise. Excercising a demon is something completely different and involves a vigourous arobic work-out.

There might be a ghost in my house. Some nights, just as I'm about to drift off to sleep, a sound from downstairs always wakes me; it sounds exactly like someone sitting on one of the kitchen chairs has just slid back on the chair, sliding it noisily across the tiles. If it is a ghost, I wish it would sit in the bloody conservatory where the laminate flooring is much quieter. Inconsiderate git.

Ah, you're thinking of the exercise employed by those existing on the mortal plain. Those "in spirit" know it better as "arobic". It's name is taken from the warm up routine undertaken each morning by Lawrence of Arobia.

Not in my house no, but in the student accommodation I stay in during the week, there's a ghost that scratches at the ceiling in my room.

Actually it's a mouse. But I like to call him a "Ghosty".

believe it or not my present flat is the first one that doesnt have a ghost.

the last flat i lived in had a dog, who scratched at the bathroom door if you were in there. I heard it many times.

My parents house.. the living room is very haunted.I could tell you things that ive seen, heard, and felt that will amaze you!

And the place also has a ghost cat. My old cat Penny. Mum and dad have seen her walking about the house, and two years ago, i was sitting in the lounge, on my birthday.. and i felt the familiar feeling of penny twirling around my legs, looking for a bit of fuss. I actually bent down to stroke her.

she'd died 6 months before.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Thats just calling out to be Innuendo Bingoed!!!

When i was younger i used to think there was a spectral gorrilla that wandered across the landing of our house trying to sell flowers,

Turned out he wasn't spectral at all, in fact my brother was a sleepwalker i only found this out when thinking my brand new Sega Megadrive was a toilet he Peed all over it in his sleep.

I still haven't forgiven him.

Is that a small telescope in a leather case at the bottom left?

Never had a ghost in my house but did once have a sasquatch move in to a neighbours shed.
Also once when I was a kid it snowed on xmas eve and when I got up christmas morning there were hoof prints on the garage roof left when Santa was delivering my Big Trak

Once again are you sure it wasn't my brother?

Did any electrical goods end up unexplainedly fried and smelling slightly of urine???
