Where would be the best place to learn the Faro Shuffle

You can learn both the in the hands faro and 2 variations of table faros (one of them being Charlie Miller's method) staright out of Expert card technique

You might, money allowing, want to check out Michael Close's ebook on the subject Learn the Faro Shuffle. Cheaper to see how you get on with ECT first, though, I guess.

It's only recently with Mnemonica that I've discovered the beauty and utter awesomeness of the faro shuffle, and so am interested to learn it. I currently do the quadruple-antifaro (but Juan mentions it's more detailed in Sonata, hence me wanting that), but then I thought I could just learn how to do a perfect faro shuffle like Lenoir. That'd be faster in a performance as well, you'd just be mixing the cards to the spectators , rather than saying I'm going to make these piles, now I'm going to pick these up in a special order (well you wouldn't say that, but I think it looks suspicious). I want to get back to the stay-stack from Mnemonica, and I don't want to perform an antifaro-4 again, so I need to learn the faro shuffle!
Expert card technique is cheaper than I thought. Under a tenner.

I agree about the anti-faro, although can understand it making sense if you have a sloppy style - you can imagine Lennart Green doing it without a hint of suspicion. The use of the anti-faro in the triumph trick has a nice sense to it, too.

You've not 100% finished with Born To Perform yet, focus on the basics first.

I can manage to do a straddle Faro, but that's about it. My fingers are not up to a full on, hardcore Faro.

is it a bad thing to go on youtube? there is like a million people teaching a million variations of every shuffle on there

Personally, I wouldn't go near PubeLube if you're serious about learning sleights and suchlike. Get yourself a good book and you can't go wrong. However, if you're looking for hilarious videos of excited young boys stabbing themselves in the ribs with a penknife as they attempt to open the most awesomest (I think I just made that word up) deck of cards ever, then knock yourself out.

It's only because I've recently spent quite a lot of money on magic that I don't think I should buy any more books, even is it is CC. The faro shuffle is only described in CC3 (I think) and I'd prefer to own the 1st 2 before buying the 3rd. So, for a quick fix I looked on youtube.

I'd totally recommend the new Fred Robinson book for learning the faro. I've been learning card magic for 25 years and could never really 'get' the faro. I could do it, but not every time.

The description in this book make it very clear, and the rest of the book is wonderful too.

"The Magic of Fred Robinson" published by Martin Breese and written by Peter Duffie.

Please don't tell me good things about that book. I'm trying to pretend it doesn't exist.
