GEMSTONE GENESIS
By Martin Vetter

Imagine taking 3 colored gems out of your pocket. Set them down on the table or in the hands of your spectators. You then turn you back (no peeking) and the spectators secretly chooses one of the stones.
You turn to face them again with your fists clenched saying: 'I've made a prediction with my back turned, right here in my hands'.
One of the spectators then picks up the stone of their choice and press it down into one of you clenched fists. Slowly, and with no funny moves at all, you open both your fists. In each fist is exactly smilar stones. The one you put there with your back turned match the spectators choice!!!

* NO Electronics
* NO Peeking
* NO Forces
* NO Gimmicks
* 5 Seconds Setup
* 2 Seconds Reset
* No matter which stone is chosen, you show the correct prediction in your fists!

A demo of the trick is now uploaded to:

Looks forward to your reactions!

Saw this post on the Cafe...finally got the video to work. The concept is really nice...I was expecting something a little different and was pleasantly surprised by the climax there.

Ettiquette here suggests that you introduce yourself first and then start posting.

Also, will you be releasing this?

Cheers

Oki...Wasn't aware of that :)

I'll write my introduction this evening.

I plan on making this a download video. I have a couple of variations and a really great ending to the effect that I couldn't show on the video as I only had see-through stones avaliable at the time of recording.

Do you know somewere good to release a download video?

(I have another clean mental effect in the making so plan to make a series of downloadable stuff.)

Cheers, Martin

Not sure why it has to tbe a download video...Dominic Reyes at www.magicshop.co.uk is keen to host e-books and has a security solution for e-files...

I really like the video-format the best :)
It is much easier to describe all the small details that are put into the handling of the effect and show why they are so important on video.

The effect is really made by all the small things you do and say. Think the video-media allows for at more visual way of learing. I prefer it myself if I were to choose between e-book or video ;)

If I were you, I would record the video, write it up in e-book form and then upload it somewhere that requires a password to view it. The password comes with the e-book...or something.

There is a great way to counter illegal viewing, which I believe Tomo uses sucessfully, which is to give a unique password out to each customer and keep a database. If you find an illegal copy, all you have to do is check the password being given out, and check it against your list of names!

I hear that alakazam are very keen to build up their instant download section atm. Their profit sharing rate is pretty damn good too.
