Postby Pcwizme » Mar 9th, '04, 14:15

now i feel as if i almost know some of the number of you out the in internet land i was wondering if there was any way of setting up a magic gallery with a photo of the the magitian or member in question and a brief bio. i just feel this would make this a bit more personal as at last we could put names to faces. i mean i could have bumped in to one of you at davenports and not even known that it was you!!!!

good idea a half way house would be to convert a jpg pic to a gif and resize to meet the requirements for the gif in your profile like me. :D

I suppose it would be a good idea as other forum members could talk to you and know you a bit better, this would help conversation flow!

Nice one Pcwizme!

Hmmmmm...

Personally, I think the intrigue is far greater!

Plus, the thought of Nick J submitting a photo of him in a leotard, or Bananafish actually turning out to be a banana shaped fish may be somewhat disturbing!

Only joking!

Yeah, if you think it's a good idea, I agree with MagicDiscoMan... put it in your profile.

But a rogues gallery may be a bit more complicated than it needs to be... why not, for instance, just add a pic to your introductions thingy?

Then again, the other complication is that pics need to be hosted somewhere. So, MagicDiscoMan's idea of users wishing to post a pic of themselves as part of their profile in their 'avatar' slot is currently fave.

I, however, will not be obliging... as I have a face which God designed for strict use on Radio only :)

And I only have a couple of pictures of myself in a leotard and I don't feel like scanning them.

My pic is pretty terrible, but yea I guess you all know what i look like now!
Maybe some kind of template in the introduction thread as a sticky, for writing a bio? Then we would all get useful info on each other instead of..." I have been interested in magic for a long time"???

Sorry guys, I won't be putting my photo on public display - as it is I have more than enough problems with adoring women swooning all over the place, mass delivery each day of specifically erotic letters from admirers and naughty suggestions being sent my way. I only have to walk into a room and I'm almost deafened by the collective sound of all those feminine undergarments hitting the deck. And that's in the local YMCA.

(At this point, Mandrake's helper enters the room, administers further essential medication of the sleepy-byes variety, tucks him into his sleeping restraint and quietly leaves again. Only the sound of gentle snoring interrupts the peaceful afternoon.....)

Is this not enough of a character analysis, WITHOUT the need to see a picture?

:)

Two years ago I had to have a new passport which meant extortionate expense in having a new set of photos. One of the set of 4 was used for the passport, and SWMBO kept the other 3 as she said they'd come in handy for keeping next door's cat off her plants. I'm still hurt guys, I really am.

Thanks, mate. I was just doing some 'googling'... I would have chewed my pencil to the roots with that one.

Obsessive, me?
