 Thanks for the laugh and kind words guys...

Yes, I get "wordy" but if you can endure it all, you will get (I hope) a more concise picture on things.

For someone new to the idea of being a Busker I'd recommend they take some jobs doing Pitches at carnivals and regional fairs. I've done most all of them and it's a wonderful education in that you learn how to build that tip or else you don't eat.

Another (related) area to jump into (for the sake of learning) are regional swap meets, flea markets, jam auctions, etc. Heck, just having your own table and pitching Svengali and Stripper decks can bring you more than fair income via sales, it can open the door for home party and corporate gigs.

Have fun!

Right I've finally had a chance to get on here and reply to all you very helpful people. I got though Craig's post with a surprising amount of ease I usually struggle to get though long posts something about reading long amounts of text on a computer that doesn't work for me. However it was a very easy to read and helpful post. I'm not sure street magic is what I want to do forever or for even that long and I'm not planning on making money out of it. I just want to get some practice preforming and having some where to preform in the near future gives me motivation to practice all I can. I also wanted to see if it was for me.

I'm going to get Oz's born to preform when I get paid :). It looks good, so far I've only stuck to books which are good and are more useful than DVD's in some places but I feel like I learn better though DVD's.

I want a really "sturdy" base in magic. I've got the royal road to card magic which is good but it's hard to weed out the good stuff from the stuff that's not for me although it's not impossible. I also have "A book for j young magicians" which is a very good book although some of the tricks aren't very good it's advice on preforming magic is very good. I also have "strong magic" by Darwin Ortiz which however good is a chore to get though and I'm not a fan of his writing style. Can you recommend any other really good DVD's or books??
