Gaffed Handcuffs

Postby Kevin Cann » Mar 12th, '09, 13:13

Can anyone recommend any marketed gaffed handcuffs where I could put the handcuffs on a spectator and they wouldn't be able to escape but when they put them on me I would be able to escape very quickly / iinstantaneously ?

No personal experience of dual purpose cuffs but you could do worse than have a word with Danny at Black Cat - http://blackcatmagicuk.com/catalog/ - he might be able to suggest and provide something suitable.

Check with either Viking Manufacturing or Stevens Magic here in the U.S. both have stocked several version of such items and pad locks over recent years for between $150.00 and $800.00 depending on your needs.

I simply make my own, its really not that difficult if you know the method.
I also have a pair of darbys, that were specialy made for me by an old friend, that can be placed on a spectator and keep them locked yet I can get out instantly.

A good place to buy from would be Cannons Great Escapes. They have everything from books to gaffed cuffs.
I havent checked thier site in a while, so I truthfully dont know off the top of my head whether they have some.

They are a great source for anything escape wise, and if they dont have what you need aks Mark and he will lend a hand in finding it.

Another thing might be to just use regulation cuffs, and learn to shim or pick or hide a key.
