Designing Miracles and Strong Magic

Postby TheStoner » Mar 20th, '09, 13:55

I'm currently reading "Designing Miracles" by Darwin Ortiz and it is a most excellent book. I'm now tempted to get "Strong Magic", but from the reviews it seems that there is a lot of cross-over between the two. Can someone who has read both confirm whether this is true? Thanks.

I don't think you will find your enjoyment of 'Strong Magic' lessened in the least by having read 'Designing Miracles'. They are more than sufficiently different in content - and both marvellous.

One is a practical guide to performance - not a theory book. The other is an analysis of effect construction and related theory.

They are complementary. There is minor overlap, only for completeness, and Strong Magic goes into more detail for the items that overlap.
