ME at the Brighton Festival Fringe!

Postby pcwells » Mar 22nd, '09, 10:18

Hello everybody!

I'm taking last year's Edinburgh Fringe show to the Brighton Festival Fringe in May.

Info as follows:

MENTAL!
Brain Tricks and Psudo-Psychic Nonsense

Laughing Horse @ The Quadrant
12 North Street, Brighton
May 11, 12 & 13th at 9.00pm
May 15 & 16th at 11.55pm
Tickets £5.00 (£4.00 conc)

A thoroughly irreverent presentation of mind-reading stunts, brain tricks and assorted pseudo-psychic nonsense.

Mental takes advantage of the Brighton festival Fringe and its hugely diverse audiences to illustrate how – regardless of the ways in which we strive to be different and set ourselves apart from everyone else – we’re all predictable creatures of habit.

Audience reactions at the Edinburgh Fringe can be seen here

EDIT: I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE TO BUY HERE!

Ah-ha. Wonderfully, I happen to be in Brighton on the 12th as I have to do a Fringe event on that day too. Mine finishes earlier, though, so - if I possibly can - I'll try to catch your show.

If I'm in the UK that week I shall come down (and get very drunk).

And I'm in the local paper today!

Okay, the journo got confused between my description of the show and my account of the Medium vs Magician Experiment. I wasn't planning to do Embarrassing Secrets at the Brighton Fringe, but I have a short version I can shoehorn in easily enough.

Also, I don't recall saying half the things I'm quoted as saying, but I don't really care, because they spelled my name right, used my picture, and told readers where they can buy tickets!

Hurrah!

Pete

As long as they get the name right, anything else is just a bonus - hope it goes well for you!

Boh. You were a journo, weren't you? You should know that journos never - and certainly not 'almost always' - get confused, distort, flat out lie or make breath-takingly careless errors. They merely 'tighten the copy'.

Anyway, a really good bit of publicity for the show there. I'm looking forward to it even more now. And I stand proudly behind any CD in my collection. Just keep clear of websites I may have browsed, OK?

oh dear, I'll have to make sure I lock my CD collection away in lead lined boxes. You'd have a hay day if you got near my collection

We shot last night's show, and it was a hoot! I'll be editing down the three camera angles over the coming week (the plan is to have a DVD ready for sale at the Edinburgh Fringe).

Expect a YouTube clip or two posted in the forum of visual curiosities sometime soon. :)
