No. Kicking against a system just gets you kicked back - harder. The way to do it is to engage with the system on its own terms. Use the system against itself. See "Serious Organised Criminal" by Mark Thomas for tips.

Is it wrong that I have no idea what people will be "riotting" about tomorrow?

i've got the day off, as i work in westminster...

however, the majority of any rioters are usually at college or uni, these same people will inevitably turn out to be our future lawyers, judges, MPs, and just a future version of who they normally "protest" against...

and how or why people think that causing havok in the streets, will somehow make others stop what they are doing, are sadly naive and just a little silly...

bless 'em...

all it'll do is give 'em an excuse to raise the council tax or other such hike..

It's the bloody anarchists again, thinking that because they have a hammer everything is a nail...

The G20 summit is the reason why some are threatening to riot. And what a waste of time it will be. Small businesses will be hurt (ironically), which is about all that will happen. That will stick it to the evil multinationals...

I take a slightly different view - the G20 summit is the EXCUSE why some people will try to riot. There is a difference between peacefully protesting and trying to create anarchy.

Even the 'evil' multi-nationals that are targeted aren't hurt as much as the hard working 'normal' member of society who may happen to work for them.

I listened to one of the so called anarchists on a Radio 5 phone in last week who was spouting on about he hoped that the City was brought to a stand-still and it was apparent that he did not care one iota about the man in the street. It was all about I'm alright Jack and I'll do what I want to do and sod everyone else.

This take, take and then take some more attitude was being boasted about but as long as no one takes from them.

They're boasting that they will shut down the London Stock Exchange. Presumably they think of it as something that only makes money for the rich, rather than a useful tool that can provide vital sources of funding to employers who keep us in house and home. It's innocent employees that suffer.

Grrr, it makes me angry!

Dont get me started on this bullplop.

I hate people who scrounge off the state with one hand and say they want to bring it down with the other. Duuuuuhhhhhhhhhh hello. What are you gonna buy your White Lightning with if there's no government to hand you money every week you pea-brained non-entity?

As for the students, they're just frustrated because they've got nothing to be frustrated about. That or because they've got to make their own beds now they're not at home anymore.

They can riot in the streets or re-enact Swan Lake down there, the G20 meetings will carry on regardless.

Im with Tomo, there's ways and means to do things, and putting a piece of turf fashioned into a mohican on the statue of Winston Churchill isnt going to win you any favours with the very people you're trying to get on side.

And im in a punk band so you'd think i'd be in favour of that behaviour.
