High score reviews

Postby FRK » Apr 1st, '09, 23:02

How come it seems that all the scores are 9 to 10, and only the effects that score high are reviewed?
What about the rubbish we all seem to purchase that never gets reviewed.

My theory is that most people will feel inclined to review a good product because they want to spread the happiness and tell us all how splendid so-and-so item is. A purchase that doesn't cut the mustard is less likely to be reviewed because we can't bring ourselves to put the effort into writing about it; probably because the experience is too painful, especially if said purchase was expensive.

I've reviewed some rubbish  but I think that people are generally aware of what they buy and what they want so are usually going to be pleased with their purchase.

perhaps there could be a thread where products you dont like are listed with a brief summary why, not taking the time a full review takes.

So other people know what to avoid.

Good idea. I believe Iain has already started a recent thread along these lines; perhaps we could all add to it?

Check my review of "Autograph". It's safe to say that this didn't get a 10!

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

I did write it partly in response to this thread. I'd meaning to stick a review of it up and this pushed me to do it. I also wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for any other methods for getting smoke from nowhere. I've reviewed a number of other things in the past I haven't liked as I do think it is helpful to have an archive of these things.

Other products have been given good reviews and slated by others. Mental epoch being my fav for this. It is useful to see the different opinions on products as one man's meat is another man's poison.
