I've seen is fiance naked, so all I can say is kudos to him. (This is probably the only situation where I can get away with saying that and by god I'm taking it.)

Saturday I'm going to the wedding of a fellow magician. He invited 200 people and half of them are magicians.
He already promised us an stage performance from Aaron Crow.
And everybody that wants to, can perform a little trick on stage. Looks like it will be an evening to remember.

I was amused by the quote on that second forum...

We paid our guy (Serge from the Royal Casino, trained by Derren Brown) £150...

... Trained by Derren Brown, eh? Is that what he told you? Flippin eck! :?

Two things hit me - these sound like horrible women. Who would marry some of them?
And they really seem to have a problem with magicians. I think as a general rule women tend not to like magic as much as men do - and that forum bears me out.

I don't think they come across as horrible women. They just don't like magicians. :?

More to the point there are plenty of working magi out there doing the wedding circuit and earning a decent wage. I suppose the bottom line is if you are any good you work and work your butt off. If you are not then you work and then don't (does this make sense?)

Back in the early/mid 90's when I was doing the kids circuit there were plenty of guys who started up with a suitcase full of props and claimed to be kids entertainers/magicians. They worked for a few weeks (mainly 'cause they were cheap) and once they were 'rumbled' never worked again.

So I wouldn't worry about these comments. It's a matter of taste. :D
