Top 5 sleights

Postby Liam number ? » Apr 25th, '09, 08:19

I thought it would be a bit of fun to find out what everyones favourite card sleights are. It's hard to have a definite favourite so no1 dosen't have to be your definite favourite. Mine are:

1.DL
2.Tenkai Optical revolve
3. One hand top palm
4.Classic pass
5.Ben Harris split move

These are mine for the moment as Im sure some of them will change over
time. im looking forward to learning the underground change...

1. Snap change (doesn't get any more direct or visual than that - plus it generates such disproportionately strong reactions when you consider how it's done)
2. Snap deal (Lennart Green)
3. Figaro Transfer (Derren Brown)
4. Riffle pass
5. Windmill move (Lennart Green)

With the exception of the Figaro - which is just a lovely move and looks like real magic - they are all genuinely impressive tricks in their own right but can also be used invisibly as a means to an end.

2. Pass
3. Top Shot
4. Zarrow Shuffle

No particular order, but i find myself using these more than any others.

Postby Liam number ? » Apr 26th, '09, 04:27

Could someone please tell me where I can find out how to do Lennart Greens windmill move. I recently purchased the snap deal booklet and i really enjoyed it.

It's on one of the Green Magic DVDs, and Derren Brown sort of explains it on The Devil's Picturebook.

I don't know if it's a bit sad to be listing "favourite" things, but I am quite bored today...

in no particular order then:

- The Tip-over Change

- The Centre Double

- The Pass

- The Lift Shuffle Control

- The Push-in Change

I seem to remember the Windmill move is also on Party Animal by Mathew Dowden.

I think a few people use it. I still haven't quite got the hang of it but it's such a lovely move.

These are ones I enjoy practising not ones which I use regulaly performing simply because I enjoy doing the more difficult sleights but try to restrict myself to a more simple method when performing for obvious reasons. Also there are some simple ones thrown in but these are the ones I enjoy practising most.

1. Top Change
2. Mikes Move (Devils picture book)
3. Diagonal Palm Shift
4. One handed top palm
5. Gamblers cop or perfect faro

Hmmm,

Being relatively new to the Cardish side of magic I would tentatively say

1 DL
2 Elmsley color change (pretty sure that's what its called)
3 Back Palm
4 Snap Change
5 Whatever the move is where you flick a card out of a deck and send it spinning to your other hand.

Hehe, I may need to do some research on the name
